Screening lacquer coating powder

Major UK manufacturer of aluminum wheels selects Russell Finex to improve the quality of powder coatings

A manufacturer of aluminum wheels required a new sieve to screen lacquer coating powder. As a top producer of aluminum wheels in Europe the company needed to ensure that its wheels were finished to the highest standard. The company was experiencing mesh blinding problems with its existing rotary sieve and could not meet the high throughput rates it wanted to achieve.

Russell Vibrasonic® Deblinding System

After numerous attempts to make the rotary sieve work, the company turned to Russell Finex to help solve its screening problems. It was essential that all oversized particles and fibres were removed from the coating, as this would affect the quality of the finish on the wheel. A new 400mm vibratory sieve was suggested, equipped with the Russell Vibrasonic® Deblinding System for the screening of difficult powders. The manufacturer was able to screen powder particles down to 75 microns removing the smallest contaminants, but the new screening solution also allowed them to screen both new and reclaimed powder.
