Russell Finex showcases industrial sieves and self-cleaning filters at PPMA 2011
PPMA the UK’s annual event for processing and packaging machinery will take place from 27th to 29th September 2011 and Russell Finex will be there to showcase their innovative range of industrial sieves and self-cleaning filters. With over 75 years of experience serving customers in a variety of industries in countries all over the world, Russell Finex are fully equipped to share their knowledge and expertise with stand visitors.
A range of Russell Finex machines will be on display, including a working Self-Cleaning Russell Eco Filter® unit, the Blow-Thru Sieve™, the Compact 3in1 Sieve™, the Mini Sifter™, the Finex Separator™ with Vibrasonic® Deblinding System and Vibrastop™, and an impressive pyramid of Russell Compact Sieves.

A working model of the totally enclosed Self-Cleaning Russell Eco Filter® will be on show. Suitable for most liquids, the filter is fitted with a unique Spiroklene™ wiper which continuously removes oversize contamination from the filter screen to provide continuous and consistent liquid flow. As a result, the filter leads to increased productivity and a significant reduction in labour costs. Also installed on the filter will be the new Russell Filter Management System™, which continuously monitors and controls your liquid filter, maximising performance while also reducing costs.
Also being showcased is the Blow Thru Sieve™, developed to accurately remove oversize contamination during tanker loading/unloading or at any point within a blow line. With a certified operating pressure up to 2 bar, the sieve eliminates double handling by combining check-screening and conveying in one operation. Its unique design allows the sieve to achieve exceptional throughput rates with minimal operator involvement, saving you time and labour costs.
The Compact 3in1 Sieve™ is designed for low-level bag emptying and check-screening in the food industry, where operator protection is essential and product quality must be beyond criticism. It effectively safeguards the health of operators with a comfortable bag tipping height and dust hood to contain airborne particles.
The Mini Sifter™ is a small portable unit, ideal for small batch processing in all industries including bakeries and pilot plants. Being fully portable and having a ‘straight through design’ provides flexibility and fast processing times.
Russell Finex will also be displaying the Finex Separator™. This machine can accurately grade or size powders on up to 4 fractions, achieving up to 5 accurate separations. The Finex Separator™ achieves many measurable benefits over conventional separators including lower noise levels (less than 70dBA) and higher sieving efficiency. The machine displayed will be in operation along with a working demonstration of the new and improved ATEX approved Vibrasonic® Deblinding System, which helps to eliminate the blinding and blocking of mesh screens. It will also feature the new sieve breaking system, the Russell Vibrastop™.
Finally, a family of Russell Compact Sieves® will be on display. The exhibit will be connected to a pneumatic conveyor to demonstrate the principle of its straight-through design. This makes it ideal for high capacity check screening of powders and liquid slurries, especially where space is restricted.
