SHAPA Export Award Winners 2018

April 25, 2018

Russell Finex named SHAPA Export Award winner for the third time following another year of global expansion

The SHAPA Awards 2018 came to the SS Great Britain on the 17th April to showcase the achievements of those in the solids handling and processing industry. Russell Finex was shortlisted in three of the awards categories, highlighting another successful year for the manufacturer of industrial separation equipment.

Having taken home the Export Award in 2015 and 2016, Russell Finex again hoped for success in this category. The company was also in the running for the Innovation Award, having previously won this award in both 2016 and 2017. In addition, Russell Finex was shortlisted in the SHAPA Company of the Year category.

After much anticipation, Russell Finex was named as the winner of the SHAPA Export Award for 2018, picking up the prize for the third time in four years.

Established in 1934, Russell Finex’s longevity and highly regarded reputation sees the company regarded as one of the top three global manufacturers of industrial sieving and filtration equipment. A continued strategy to meet and exceed customers’ needs, combined with expansion into new markets and industries is supported by a commitment to corporate and social responsibility, as well as an eco-friendly approach to business.

Russell Finex has been established for over 80 years, with over 70 years involved in exporting products to overseas markets. This business is channelled through the UK subsidiary as well as four overseas sales subsidiaries located in the USA, Belgium, India and a new subsidiary in China.

As well as functioning as a sales office, a subsidiary is used to communicate with local partners and customers and include key customer support functions such as a test facility and stockholding. These functions are critical to ensuring customers and affiliates can be confident in the equipment purchased, as well as allowing for fast response times for spare parts and servicing.

An exciting recent development has been the opening of a new subsidiary in Shanghai, China. Being the world’s second largest economy, it is extremely important to hold a strong representation in the country, and provide customers with local stockholding, meshing services and a test facility. Other recent developments also include the opening of a local sales office in São Paulo, Brazil, and the addition of further foreign language websites, and Russell Finex will continue to advance its overseas sales and marketing strategies to ensure its global customer base has the best access to the range of products and services.

Martin Chipperfield, Russell Finex Sales and Marketing Director, commented, “Winning this award highlights yet another successful year for the company, and is testament to the hard work of all of our staff around the world. To win the Export Award in three of the last four years illustrates our commitment to expanding into new markets and providing excellent customer service around the globe.”

Russell Finex is delighted to have been rewarded by SHAPA once again for achievement in the industry and would like to congratulate all other SHAPA winners and shortlisted companies.
