Total Exhibition Review 2013

July 16, 2013

The Total Processing & Packaging Exhibition is the UK’s largest and most inclusive event for machinery, materials, equipment and services for the processing and packaging industries. This year Russell Finex showcased a range of industrial sieving equipment and liquid filtration solutions, with a huge focus on improving product quality.

2013 has been a challenging start for the processing and packaging industry. However, manufacturers have been responsive to identifying changes in customer demands and have responded positively to new legislation that has been put in place, which has transformed the processing and packaging environment. June 4th 2013 was the opening day of the Total exhibition and Hall 5 of the Birmingham NEC played host to nearly 400 exhibitors looking to showcase their most innovative designs. The exhibition incorporated the following:

  • Pakex – one of the oldest packing events and known globally throughout the packaging industry.
  • PPMA – the biggest processing and packaging event in the UK and a fantastic opportunity to engage with manufacturers, processors and engineers across the industry.
  • Interphex – dedicated to delivering manufacturing solutions to the pharmaceutical industry, providing an opportunity to directly target companies within the pharmaceutical industry and their key decision makers.

With all these sectors under one roof, there could have been no better place for Russell Finex to unveil innovative sieving and liquid filtration solutions. On our stand this year the following equipment was featured:

Finex Separator™ – our working demonstration showed how this machine can accurately grade or size powders on up to 4 fractions, resulting in up to 5 accurate separations.

Integrated control system – this is available for our range of vibratory sieves and in-line filters. The control system can incorporate a number of features to enhance functionality and usability. The systems featured included the Russell Vibrastop, the Vibrasonic Deblinding System and the Russell Gated Outlet.

Russell Compact Sieve® – our flagship machine is one of the most popular and adaptable vibratory sieving machines on the market, providing high capacity check screening where space is restricted.

Self-Cleaning Russell Eco Filter® – this working demonstration showed how the filter can improve product quality and remove oversize contamination. Compared to other industrial filters the Self-Cleaning Russell Eco Filter does not require filter bags or cartridges and offers considerable reductions in waste.

Russell Hygiene Filter™ – designed specifically for sanitary applications where product quality cannot be compromised. It offers optimum cleaning to meet the demands of the food and pharmaceutical industries, while adhering to industry standards.

Compact 3in1 Sieve™ – designed with the food industry in mind, the low-level bag emptying allows had fed ingredients to be check-screened effectively. The straight through design offers optimum clearance between the floor and the sieve outlet, while fitting neatly into production process.

This year’s Total exhibition was another success, providing us the opportunity to present our latest solutions in sieving and filtration technology to the public over the three-day event. The exhibition proved to be a successful event with a good amount of enquiries being received and some good business leads for the future.
