Improving the quality of your beverage products

BeveragesOver many years and through several generations of separation equipment, Russell Finex has maintained close links with the brewing and beverage industry.

Liquor/Spirits

Bottle and cask washing can be made more cost effective if the caustic wash water is separated from the debris (labels, etc) and recycled for subsequent washes. Filtering liquor to remove barrel char is also required for improved purity.

Cider

The cider brewing industry has also benefited from the filtration of apple juice after it has passed through a plate filter press. The Russell Eco Filter® has been employed to filter the liquor, removing fine particles, reducing the solids in preparation for further clarification by membrane filtration.

Brewed beverages

We have been asked to remove spent grains from liquor to render the grains easier to handle in dry form. We have also separated trub from wort, left behind in a whirlpool after the brew has transferred to the fermenting stage. This has made savings in effluent treatment, but also has, for some, allowed the recovered wort to be passed to subsequent brews so reducing wastage.

Other drinks and beverages

Our filters and separators are suitable for almost any other type of beverage. From teas and coffees to fruit smoothies, we understand the industry and can help improve your product quality.
