Industries / Applications

Because Russell Finex expedited delivery, we were operational in less than four weeks after our initial contact. This allowed us to meet our customer obligations efficiently and saved us additional cost from project delays.

Minerals

Serving the minerals industry

MineralMinerals range in composition from pure elements and simple salts to very complex silicates with thousands of known forms. This makes minerals one of the most extensively used natural products throughout a diverse range of applications. Russell Finex have over 50 years experience within the industry and understand the unique properties and requirements of different applications.

Removal of contamination from minerals

Products such as salt (NaCl), talc (soapstone) and limestone (CaCO3) are extremely common and are regularly used in high volumes. It is therefore essential to ensure reliable removal of contamination without jeopardizing production capacities. Russell Finex high performance Compact sieves have been designed to provide maximum throughputs (100 metric tonnes/hour on a 1200mm diameter sieve) and due to their ‘in and out’ design they can be easily retrofitted into any plant with minimal disruption. The units are very easy to maintain and are available with a variety of options to minimize problems that can be encountered with fine dust.

Recommended product: Compact Sieve®

Ensuring correct particle size distribution

When dealing with minerals, ensuring accurate particle size distribution is often critical. With products like Clay (for more information on clay see our Ceramics page) and Bauxite or Copper (for more information, see our Metallurgy page), this is essential as particle size has a direct impact on the performance and quality of the end product. In these cases, a Finex Separator can be used to provide up to 5 highly accurate and efficient product fractions in one pass.

Recommended product: Finex Separator™

Eliminating mesh blinding and blockage

The nature of some minerals, such as fine silica powders, often causes mesh blockage. This can cause production problems by either reducing throughput rates or causing premature damage to mesh screens. Fitting the Russell Finex Vibrasonic® Deblinding System will minimize both of these problems by ensuring the mesh is constantly clean while also reducing mesh breakage.
