Russell Finex Raises £1402 For Sport Relief

April 10, 2018

Sport Relief 2018 saw a successful turnout of staff competing in a comic themed Office Olympics. Having fundraised in the past through various activities such as bikeathons, running and active sports, last year pioneered a new take on sport activities with a comic Office Olympics that everyone could take part in, and this year followed suit.

Six teams competed in office-themed versions of the Olympics including activities such as sprint, shooting, javelin, basketball, sailing and diving. All team members were given the opportunity to compete solo, with a partner and also as a team, with the hopes of earning the most points. If you missed the action, the full video of the event can be found here.

At the end of the event, the winning team was announced. Team ‘The Winning Team’ captained by Pedro Goncalves, Export Sales Coordinator, received their gold medals at an award presentation, along with the second and third placed teams, with Russell Finex matching the team who raised the highest amount.

All participants in the Office Olympics were asked to raise awareness of Sport Relief and also encourage friends, families and colleagues to donate money towards the cause. In support of this a ‘Ready Steady Bake’ sale was held on the day to create a fun way for everyone to get stuck in, whether it be baking the treats or eating them.

Richard Kay, Business Development Manager at Russell Finex stated, “It was enjoyable to partake in the Office Olympics this year, not only is it a fun way to bring everyone from all departments together, but it’s to raise money for a good cause. Sport Relief helps millions of individuals worldwide, enabling happier, healthier and safer lives. Being part of this cause and playing my part to help these individuals is the greatest feeling.”

Sport Relief has been changing the lives of vulnerable families worldwide, with the money raised enabling happier, healthier and safer lives. In the last two years, over 8 million people have benefitted from the money raised by events such as this, and 2017 saw over £82 million raised through Sport Relief and Comic Relief campaigns.

Russell Finex is committed to supporting local, national and international causes, and thanks you for your support in advance of Sport Relief 2018.
