2019 sees Russell Finex achieve another anniversary landmark as it turns 85
At Russell Finex, we reflect on yet another remarkable accomplishment as we celebrate our 85th birthday. In light of this incredible longevity, an anniversary like this should not go without celebrating, nor without some reflection on how far we’ve come.
From humble beginnings to a global leader
Set up in 1934 by three builders – Victor Robinson, Charles Holliday, and Charles James Askham – under the name RPA Builders, Russell Finex is a company that started out with humble beginnings but never lacked for ambitious vision. When Justin Hurst, an engineer, and inventor, bought shares in the company, he redeveloped and patented the motor of a sieving machine. This redevelopment proved invaluable, and the 1950s saw the introduction of the “Super Finex”, the first high-speed vibratory sieving machine specifically designed for the paint industry, the name transforming Russell Constructions Ltd into Russell Finex in 1970.
From a small workshop attached to Mr Hurst’s house to five different subsidiaries across the world – its Feltham HQ in the United Kingdom, USA, Belgium, India, and China - with many other offices and external agents and sales personnel, Russell Finex has expanded into a truly global company. Most recently, this has included the development of a new sales office in Brazil, showcasing our continued successful expansion across the globe.
Always seeking to grow and push the boundaries of innovation to transform the company, Russell Finex has gone from strength to strength and is today a global market leader in the manufacture of the widest range of sieving, filtration and ultrasonic equipment on the market. Some achievements include the expansion into the Additive Manufacturing industry with the award winning AMPro® Sieve Station, and the committed dedication to sustainability, providing hard-wearing, long-lasting, high-performance products for the recycling and water processing industries as two main examples.
