University of West London awards Ray Singh an Honorary Doctorate of Business Administration
Joining Russell Finex more than four decades ago, Ray Singh has played a pivotal role in transforming our company from a small London-based manufacturer into a global enterprise, offering separation solutions to customers in over 140 countries worldwide.
With a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Ray began his career at another company as an engineer before moving to Russell Finex straight into the commercial side of the company’s business. Over the years, he has undertaken virtually every commercial role within Russell Finex, progressing to Sales and Marketing Director and later Managing Director.
Ray has championed a culture in which employees are treated as stakeholders, talent is developed from within, and success is shared. Under his leadership, the company experienced significant growth, with turnover increasing almost threefold and profits rising more than ninefold. We have also invested in apprenticeships, created skilled employment opportunities, and received more than 30 awards over the past five years, recognizing the company as an outstanding employer and industry leader.
Most recently, Ray helped celebrate Feltham’s local talent by commissioning murals of athlete Sir Mo Farah and musician Freddie Mercury, recognizing two inspiring individuals with strong ties to the local area, now acting as a local landmark.
Since stepping down as Managing Director in 2023, Ray has continued to support the business as Chairman and Consultant. He remains actively involved in guiding the company’s strategy and contributing to our ongoing success.

This prestigious honor is a fitting recognition of his exceptional leadership, business achievements, and contribution to both the process industry and the wider community.
