Russell Finex delivers winter cheer to local children

January 27, 2017

Feltham based manufacturing company support local charities with festive fundraising efforts

Throughout the winter staff at Russell Finex Ltd raised money for various local and national causes, spreading festive cheer to those in need. In total, the company raised over £1200, supporting Shooting Star Chase, MIND and Save the Children.

The traditional Christmas raffle formed the focus for much of the fundraising. A shortlist of charities nominated by Russell staff was put together, before a vote was cast to select which would be the beneficiary of the raffle. This year, the winner was Shooting Star Chase, a children’s hospice charity local to Russell Finex’s UK headquarters in Feltham.

Shooting Star Chase provides support to local children with life-limiting conditions, and their families. This includes stays at local hospices in Hampton and Guildford, Hospice at Home, day care, symptom management, end-of-life care, bereavement care and a comprehensive range of therapies and support groups for the whole family.

Donations by Russell Finex, as well as various local supermarkets, businesses and organizations formed an enticing raffle prize pool and lots of lucky winners at the draw, which took place on the last working day before Christmas. In total, £1000 was raised through the raffle, with all proceeds going to Shooting Star Chase.

The festive fundraising didn’t stop there, however, as the company took part in Save the Children’s National Christmas Jumper Day, helping raise money for a global cause providing education, healthcare and disaster relief to children across the world. Also, as is tradition at Russell Finex, a charity Christmas card was circulated, raising money for MIND, a charity providing advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.

Having been recognised in 2016 for being a responsible local business, Russell Finex was pleased to once again raise some festive cheer for local and national good causes. Ray Singh, Russell Finex Managing Director, comments, “We are aware of our responsibility as a local business to engage with and give back to the local community. At this time of year in particular, it is important to spread support to those less fortunate than ourselves.”

Russell Finex would like to thank all who pledged donations during its fundraising efforts. The company is committed to supporting charities and the local community, and looks forward to further fundraising throughout 2017.
