Russell Finex Festive Fundraising 2017

January 2, 2018

Feltham manufacturer supports range of charities with festive fundraising efforts

The 2017 festive season saw staff at Russell Finex Ltd raise money for various charitable causes, as the company did its bit to spread festive cheer to those in need. In total, the company raised over £1400, supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital, Macmillan Cancer Support and Save the Children.

The company’s annual Christmas raffle once again raised the largest share of the fundraising. As is custom at Russell Finex, a shortlist of charities was nominated by company staff, before a vote was cast to select one beneficiary of the raffle. This year, Great Ormond Street Hospital was the chosen charity.

Great Ormond Street Hospital is a children's hospital in London, supporting some of the country’s most sick children, with terminal and rare illnesses, through parent accommodation programmes, pioneering research, hospital refurbishment and state-of-the-art medical equipment. The charity was nominated due to a link with Russell Finex, as an employee’s family member works at the hospital.

Donations by Russell Finex, as well as various suppliers and local supermarkets, businesses and organizations formed an enticing raffle prize pool and lots of lucky winners at the draw, which took place on the Friday before Christmas. In total, £1300 was raised through the raffle, with all proceeds going to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

There was further fundraising to be had, as the company took part in Save the Children’s National Christmas Jumper Day, helping raise money for a global cause providing education, healthcare and disaster relief to children across the world. Also, as is tradition at Russell Finex, a charity Christmas card was circulated, raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, one of the largest British charities providing specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer.

Ray Singh, Russell Finex Managing Director was pleased to once again raise some festive cheer for local and national good causes, and commented, “We appreciate how important it is, particularly throughout the festive season, to help those less fortunate than ourselves. It is also important to enjoy this special time of year with our colleagues, and these fundraising efforts help bring the company together.”

Russell Finex would like to thank all who pledged donations during its fundraising efforts. The company is committed to supporting charities and the local community, and looks forward to further fundraising throughout 2018.
