Staff at UK headquarters compete in team triathlon event to raise money for national and global causes

With Sport Relief 2016 just around the corner, staff at Russell Finex are once again preparing to focus their efforts on a day of exercise and fundraising. This year, participants will test their fitness and teamwork across three different exercises, in order to raise money for a national initiative with the Russell Finex Sport Relief Team Triathlon.

Update: Watch the Live Stream of Russell Finex Team Triathlon.

Building on previous sporting charity events, such as last year's six hour cycle challenge, this year will pit Russell Finex staff against each other, providing healthy competition and the motivation to push that little harder. Each team will be comprised of six members, and have 45 minutes to cover as much ground as possible on three machines – the bike, treadmill and rowing machine.

At the end of the 45 minutes, the total distance covered will be added together, and the winning team will be the one to have covered the most distance. Not only will the winners have the bragging rights over the other teams, but Russell Finex have pledged to double the amount raised by whichever team comes out on top.

Sport Relief and Comic Relief have been helping disadvantaged people and families in the UK and some of the world's poorest communities since 1985. In the last two years alone, 8 million people have benefitted from the money raised by events such as this, and Russell Finex are enthused as ever to support this worthy cause.

Russell Finex has set a healthy target of raising £1250 this year, and welcome donations of any size. Donations can be made to specific teams, or to the general Russell Finex pot. Please visit our team fundraising page to make a donation.

Live streaming of the event and a leaderboard will be available from 9am-3pm on Friday 18th March, in order to keep up to date with how the teams are doing and who is leading the race. Please visit Russell Finex's YouTube page or the News and Events section of the Russell Finex website to access this on the day.

Russell Finex is committed to supporting local, national and international causes, and thank you for your support in advance of Sport Relief 2016.

Sport Relief is an initiative of Comic Relief, registered charity 326568 (England/Wales); SC039730 (Scotland).
