Manufacturers keep on talking about key screening equipment secret
Sieving generally ranks low in the order of investment costs, but the necessity for accurate particle size separation in the manufacturing of fine powders cannot be overstated. The blinding or blocking of mesh is common problem when sieving difficult powders on screens of 300 micron and below. When blocking occurs, the useful screening area is reduced and therefore capacity drops. This structure will be compounded when the screen is manually cleaned as this often results in the mesh becoming damaged or broken.

This article examines the benefits of using ultrasonic sieving such as the Russell Vibrasonic® Deblinding System whilst sieving difficult powders. Some products to benefit from ultrasonic sieving technology include stainless steel and iron powder, tungsten carbide, manganese sulphide, ceramic powders, electrostatic powder paints, various food and pharmaceutical powders as well as many other minerals.
