The 30th Achema exhibition took place in Frankfurt on June 18th – 22nd 2012. Achema is one of the world’s largest chemical engineering and biotechnology exhibitions, providing a platform for new innovations to be showcased from suppliers all over the world and across a wide range of industries. With the visitor and exhibitor numbers remaining stable, the show proved to be a great success.
Recognizing the great potential of this exhibition, Russell Finex expanded the size of their stand compared to previous years to showcase well established machines, as well as new developments.
The Finex Separator™ was showcased, demonstrating how the machine can accurately grade or size powders on up to 4 fractions, achieving up to 5 accurate separations. The Finex Separator™ achieves many measurable benefits over conventional separators including lower noise levels (less than 70dBA) and higher sieving efficiency.
Displayed with the Finex Separator™ was an example of how Russell Finex now offer integrated control systems available for their range of vibratory sieves and self-cleaning filters. The systems can incorporate a number of features to enhance usability and functionality. The system displayed featured the Vibrasonic® Deblinding System, the Russell Vibrastop™ and the New Russell Gated Outlet™. The Vibrasonic Deblinding System helps to eliminate the blinding and blocking of mesh screens, whilst the Russell Vibrastop™ is an advanced starter reducing excessive movement and noise during start up and shut down of sieves. The new Russell Gated Outlet™ provides complete control of the discharge of screened material, preventing the loss of good product.
Russell Finex’s flagship machine, the Russell Compact Sieve® which was launched 20 years ago, is now one of the most popular and versatile check screening machines on the market. This screener has a quick release clamping system boosting the effectiveness of screening processes, and has an easy to clean crevice-free design. Fitting neatly into small spaces, the screener is ideal for high capacity check screening of powders and liquid slurries where space is restricted. A variety of Compact Sieves® were on display, including a monolith of the Compact 600 and Compact 900. The monolith showed the variety of different finishes available for the machine. The NEW Compact Sieve meeting the requirements of the 3-A sanitary standards was also displayed.
Our latest filter, the Russell Hygiene Filter™, was also showcased. Designed specifically for the food and pharmaceutical industry this fully stainless steel machine is crevice free and conforms to strict hygiene standards. Utilizing the self-cleaning functionality of the range of Self-Cleaning Russell Eco Filters®, the filter continuously removes oversize contamination from the filter screen to provide continuous and consistent liquid flow. Fitted to the filter was working demonstration of the new retrofittable Vertical End Cap Support™. The Vertical End Cap Support™ assists operators in assembling and disassembling the filter, minimizing downtime and increasing productivity.
Russell Finex received many compliments from many visitors including affiliates and customers. The show was a great success, with enquiries increasing by over 30% compared to the last exhibition, Russell Finex are looking forward to seeing what Achema 2015 will hold in store.
Other units displayed on the stand:
- Russell Compact 3in1 Sieve™ – designed for low-level bag emptying and check-screening in the food industry
- Russell Compact Airlock Sieve™ – designed for the pharmaceutical industry, the sieve accurately removes oversize contamination, improving product quality.
- Self-Cleaning Russell Eco Filters® – removes oversize contamination from 10 micron and above, providing consistently high flow rates.
