Food Expo 2017, Greece and Southeast Europe’s largest food industry exhibition, returns to Metropoliton Expo Centre, Athens from 18 – 20 March 2017. The latest food industry trends, products, services and processing technologies take center stage once again, and Russell Finex is looking forward to exhibiting its range of separation equipment for food and beverage applications at the show.
With visitors and exhibitors from Europe and further afield expected to attend, the fourth edition of Food Expo is expected to be the greatest yet. Over 1200 exhibitors and 55,000 visitors are expected to be in attendance, four times as many as at the event’s first edition, reflecting the optimism in Greece’s food industry, despite difficult economic times.
The food industry in Greece contributes to over 20% of the country’s economy. In particular, dairy products hold the largest share of this – around a quarter, while meat, fruits and vegetables and bread, sugar and chocolate are also significant sectors. A range of other products such as olive oil, coffee, spices and wines also have a long tradition of production in the country. A range of industry requirements will be addressed at the show, from food processing, packaging and hygiene control equipment to ingredients handling and industrial bakery technology.
