Russell Finex hits landmark 90 years of business in 2024
We are pleased to announce that 2024 is our 90th year in business. Our success has been built on our rich heritage, the quality of our products and the willingness to work with our customers to find a perfect solution.
Our rich heritage
Our corporate journey in business started back in 1934 by three builders, Victor Robinson, Charles Holliday, and Charles James Askham, who established the original company as RPA Builders.
Within a few years, an engineer and inventor by the name of Justin Hurst bought shares in the company and he developed and patented a revolutionary new sieving machine. During the second world war the company exclusively manufactured sieves for the Ministry of Supply to assist the sieving of tracer bullet powders, utilizing the new patented Russell sieving machine.
Following the war our company’s growth accelerated with new markets open and new machines being regularly released. In 1970 and 1972 we opened our first subsidiaries in the USA and Belgium after many years of selling equipment through agents into those markets. By the 1990s our company had grown to such a size that new offices and manufacturing facilities were required and the site our international headquarters is on today was bought.
Today we are a truly global business servicing 140 countries with our network of subsidiaries and agents. This means our customers enjoy local support wherever they are and at whatever stage in their journey. From having our experts visiting their sites to discuss new projects or being able to quickly receive re-meshed frames we are there to support our customers.
High quality equipment made by experts
A large part of our success over the last 90 years is the quality of our machines and service. These machines are designed, manufactured and marketed by our sieving and filtration experts. The key elements to the quality of our overall service are:
- Our in-house development team who are continually working on new and improved equipment
- Our design office who works with our sales engineers and customers to build customized machines that address their exact needs
- Our manufacturing team build our equipment at our international headquarters in the UK to IS9001 standard.
To highlight our enduring quality, some of our machines from the 1970s are still in operation at customer sites today and we continue to restore and supply spare parts for them.
Our future
As our recent expansions in Brazil and India highlight, we intend to develop our global network and enhance our services around the world. This includes developing new and improved digital infrastructure to assist and streamline our customer experience wherever they are.
Our history is a rich 90 years of expertise, innovation and quality and we look forward to continuing to excel over the next 90 years.
